CPU and disk usage

All,

After downloading alice for Mac (10.4.11, dual 2 ghz power pc g5, 2.5 gb ddr sdram), when I start the tutorial, I get high cpu usage (60%) and a lot of activity noise on hard drive.

Is this normal?

Im not sure if it is normal or not, but i do know that when i run alice, my computer does make a lot of noise! mainly the fan!
