Pitch is a slang or jargon term commonly used to describe the action of an airplane diving or climbing. The three common terms are:

roll - tipping the right wing up or down (Rolling in an airplane is OK but you normally wouldn't want to roll in a car.)

pitch - tipping the nose up or down (Similar to your car going up or down a hill.)

yaw - causing the airplane to stay level and turn around its vertical axis. That is to say, the end of the right wing will move either forward or backward relative to the location of the pilot. (You can cause your car to yaw on a flat parking lot, but an airplane normally combines yaw and roll to produce what is often referred to as banking.)
