I produced an Intro to Programming for our first year online learners using Alice. I have found that it is easy for them to understand and use. Being completely online with mostly asynchronous communications poses some problems but Alice has really helped us and them. I would be interested in working with anyone that is using it at a first year college level with online learners. Do you feel it is robust enough for a short course? Does it adequate provide for the learners understanding of the principles of programming? I am using the Charles W. Herbert - An Introduction to Programming - Thomson / Course Technology.
