I am disappointed to read that Mac/Apple Users cannot take advantage of this highly publicized web site.

My apologies. I do see a download for High School Students, I was hoping for a Mac download for the Storytelling Download.

Storytelling Alice was created as part of Caitlin Kelleher's dissertation. As such, it was originally meant for her own user testing and research. After an incredible amount of demand for it, she released it to the public as-is, with no intentions of making further changes. However, she will be working on a new version of Alice based on the 3.0 code that will also be targeting Middle Schoolers.

We apologize that Storytelling Alice is not being offered for non PC platforms (if you have an Intel Mac and run XP with bootcamp, it should run).

I don't presently have access to Macs, but it may be possible to use Wine (the Windows Emulator) to run Storytelling Alice on modern day Macs. The link below says Wine is available for MacOSX. Wine is LGPL so is free software.

As I have never done this, I can't tell you how much pain will be involved in the process, but in the hope that it is useful, I'll suggest that as one potential approach.

Please be aware that even on PC's, Storytelling Alice is very obviously research code and, by commercial standards, far from robust. (For a thesis effort, it is excellent.)

I'm personally looking forward to the version based on Alice 3.0.

I'm running Mac OS 10.5 and using Alice 2.0. I personally think you should just use that, unless you specifically wanted the storytelling one. It's nt hard to use or anything as far as I can tell. I'm 12 and I figured out 2.0 by myself in 5 minutes, not counting the tutorials.
