I tried to do this but my fish just goes in a octagon-type shape. I'm supposed to make a fish swim in a circle in front of an island. How do I do this and thanks in advance

How’s your homework going? An octagon is not a bad approximation of a circle. :)
Your fish would swim more like a fish if it did it with ‘more style’ (hint). :D
Also, a fish moves and turns at the same time (it does both together).;)

I had that assignment first in my class this year.

You must be using the text I am teaching from. It is odd that the assignment for the fish is in chapter 2, but it explains how to do it in section 4-3, with a dragon.
Good Luck.

Why not just have a "do together" in a loop and put the fish moving forward and spinning in it? You could also have a "do in order inserted to insert a tail function.
