The new release of Alice 3 Beta has a whopping 5775 files and 275 Folders! I have provided comparison (photos) of the new Alice 3 Beta vs. Windows XP with Service Pack 3 installed.

After installation of Alice 3 Beta--it is highly recommended you do a Defrag check of your drive! With this many folders and files installed--its a sure bet Alice 3 Beta has "moved--pushed out of the way"--older programs and their files!

Do a defrag check to ensure proper placement of "critical files".

Here are the photos.

Excellent suggestion. I did a check and, in my case, you were certainly correct.

One caution. Before actually doing defragmentation, make sure the installation of Alice hasn't also pushed the utilized portion of the disk where it was installed too high. (I like to have the disk more than 2/3 utilized, generally start to see problems at greater than 80% and nearly always see problems at greater than 90%.)

I didn't follow this advice the first time I tried  - and the defragmentation took most of an afternoon, and didn't really help much overall.

This is the installation I did for Alice 3 Beta. Notice the free space on Drive C.

It was installed in the root of drive C not in the program files. My defrag check showed .jar files scattered and not the actual program,

Most data goes on the Slave. I believe you can copy and paste Alice 3 Beta and save it on a disk. You may be allowed to run it from that location or copy paste it back on the drive.
