One suggestion: change the duration the music plays to full length for both the recording and playing methods, then add two variables called volRec (which is set to zero the instant the play button is pressed) and volPlay (which is set to zero the instant Playback stops). Then, make the music in the recording section play at volume level volRec and have the music in the playing section set its volume to volPlay. Now, when the music plays, it can be muted the instant you need it to, without overlap.
