So I went to download Alice, unaware that I have to input a password for almost ever object [I suspect anyway]. Is this supposed to happen? if so are the passwords on the main site?

Anyway what version of Alice are you using 2.0,2.2 or 3 beta. If it's any beta versions then this may be true but all of my stable versions have worked fine.
