View Full Version : How do I run Alice 2.2 on Windows 7

I have been trying to run Alice2.2 for about a week now. And every time I try to open the program up it give me a window called "Java Thread" and what it says is (Could not LoadLibrary jvm,dll). So how do I get to run the program, it is for my IT class.
I heard there was something that when you go to the properties of Alice, you can select "Run in XP Mode". I haven't seen or tested this yet though.

have you tried Alice 2.0 , because i suggest you use that anyways because 2.2 still has many bugs and 2.0 is pretty much perfected..

Both 2.0 and 2.2 work in my win7.
But 3.0 doesn´t work.

ohhh, well i suggest you use 2.0 before you use 2.2 because 2.0 like i said is pretty much perfected while 2.2 was never quite finished, and 3.0 i don't even know why they released it in beta yet because it isnt even ready for a beta version, tons and tons of bugs!

Actually, 2.2 is better in quite a few ways than 2.0, but I keep a copy of both in case something doesn't work on one of them.
I really think people don't give 2.2 enough credit though. I've done nearly 90% of my work using Alice 2.2, and it's treated me well (for the most part, there's always a few glitches here and there).

yehh but i dont know when i used it the last few months i just got too many error messages and it kind of confused me i dont know,haha :D

I am running Windows 7 64 bit. I had to run Alice 2.2 as Windows XP Service Pack 3 compatability.

I just moved up to Win7Pro 64-bit from XPPro 64-bit(yes it took forever, no it wasn't an upgrade). The last part of the process involved easy transfer which copied an Alice folder back onto my desktop. Executing Alice 2.2 out of that folder has not caused me any problems so far with any of my previously created world files, and I am not running it in compatibility mode.:D

i dont know if ALice 2.2 works on Windows 7, but im sure theyll make a version for Windows 7, ill ask Gabe
