Try searching the forums for the stuff by DickBaldwin, he's done a bajillion tutorials on teaching software, Alice included.

If you can't find his stuff, or don't find it useful, I strongly recommend random experimentation. That's how I learned Alice.

I learned first with my cousins help, he's 19, was 17 at the time. I learned basic what the events are and like what methods were, then i watched the tutorials a little bit then every once and a while i get help from my cousin and the rest these past 3 years...on my own and i know how to use Alice 85%. Going for 100%
