I'm working through the tutorials and have found a possible bug on pg. 65 of Lesson 2. In Step 2, clicking Next returns an "Oops!" error after selecting "backward" and "1/4 revolutions" as instructed. Clicking Back and even Restart don't correct the problem.
Is this a known issue? And, is there a known bug fix or workaround for this endless error loop?

The tutorials have a sort of hit-or-miss success rate. I personally have never had any issues with them, but for some reason many others have.
I don't know of any ways to fix this, as tutorials can't be edited from inside Alice. If you have a question about something in Alice, though, you can always post a question to the How Do I...? forum.

Thanks for everyone's response! The problem seems to have disappeared after I installed new Tutorial files. I discovered that my original installation of Alice was missing Tutorials Lesson 3 and 4. (Apparently, there may be some corrupt discs out there because I have several classmates who experienced the same problem.) A senior member of the Alice Community emailed me his explanation of the problem, as well as the missing files/folders. I'm not saying the tutorials were the cause of this specific problem. But, after I deleted my original tutorial files and installed new ones, voila! Problem(s) solved! (Thanks Zonedabone!)
The thread that includes the fix I used is listed below. It includes Zonedabone's explanation of the problem, a list of missing files and where they should be installed, plus two .zip files containing the missing tutorials. I didn't want to create possible version conflicts, in case there was an update that wasn't reflected when they printed the disc. So, I replace the entire problem folder rather than select specific files to cut and paste piece meal. It worked like a charm.
[Please note: there are two lesson files (3 and 4) missing in one folder, and the related worlds for those tutorials missing from another in problem Alice installations.]
Hope this info helps anyone else who may be having similar problems!
