Im trying to have background sound (mp3 file of the Good, the bad, the ugly 583kb) the problem is when I play it in Alice it is playing at about 3 times the normal speed. The file plays fine in media player.

Ideas?

Thanks,
James

Try converting the sound file to a different format such as .wav

Post the sound file and let me see. Converting it to .wav may work, but it will also dramatically increase the size of the sound file, so use that as a last resort.

I have never seen this problem. Mp3s always have a problem

I had problems with Alice and sound for a while and fixed it by simply extracting the Alice zip file again and it worked fine. I have had to do this occasionally to fix the problem but it works and has no negative problems.

Sound works fine with me but I screwed up alice once and redownloaded it and it worked.

Weirdly enough, when I imported your original copy, it didn't play and only registered as being 30 seconds long, but when I imported it into Audacity and cut off the first four seconds of silence, then exported it from Audacity and into Alice again, it worked fine. Try this world out.
