Hello, I'm new to these forums.

I've downloaded Alice 2.2 for a project two days ago and I've already stumbled into an issue. I've been trying to import a 34 second mp3 file into Alice so that it can play WHILE a few animations take place. What results each time it's supposed to play is a notice that tells me "an error has occured" (that pop-up with the red queen scowling at you).

I've tried several things including: placing my mp3 into Alice's Required>sounds folders, removing spaces and uppercase letters in the mp3's name, and rewriting all mp3 info so that it reads the same as the Alice ones. Nothing works and it's really frustrating. Anybody have any answers or help.

By the way, I've tested the same thing with Alice's intended sound files (all mp3s) and they seem to work fine.

Maybe convert it to a different sound file like .wav and see if that makes a different? Keep the original .mp3 just in case it doesn't work though.

Heres a zip with my mp3 and alice file. I think the mp3 has to be in your required>sounds folder if you intend to play the alice file with the sound (that is the destination of mine).

Can anybody with good knowledge of the software (and a bit of time on their hands) help me out or at least see if there is an issue with the mp3. Thanks.

I got the sound to work, by the way it fits perfectly, stopping right as the camera starts to pan to the girl. However, there is another sound in your file that has the same problem, it produces an error, so if you need to use that sound also just open the sound up in Audacity, then just cut a little piece off of the end of the sound, then export the sound as a WAV file, and import it back into Alice and use it. If you don't want to do all of that, just upload the sound here again and I will do it for you.

Here is the world with the sound in it working:

Oh wow, it changed the 1mb mp3 file into a 5mb wav file!!! Thats not good, the world is 16mb now... Well as long as you don't put any other objects in I guess it doesn't matter, its just weird it made the file that big.

And don't worry about the space.. i'm happy as long as it works. Thanks again.
