Updated: v1.0

Finished version.

I actually finished this about 5 monthes back for a school final project, just never got around to uploading it actually. But thanks for the comments guys, and sorry for the wait, i just happened to be checking the forum since i know a new school semester started a while ago and you may also be working in a final school project also.

Feel free to use my game a reference to help you guys out with your programming. Its pretty straight forward with commands. And i got a 95% for a first year computer programming coarse with this game so it was good for marks. This will probably also be my last update, or anything on the alice forums, since i will be moving onto C++ for next year in computer programming.

Updated: v0.3

*Slightly bigger file with more models*

Added:
-Some more to the game
-Game Over Screen (didn't add it till now XD)
-Intro Cinamatic
-Fixed up some code
-Moved camera up slightly (for better... something???)

Going to work on:
-More parts (just trying to get the game done first, and adding some small stuff.)
-The new gun
-Better lighting? (if I can figure it out.)

If there are any problems, comments, etc please tell me, i never fully tested this correctly when i uploaded this version.

Updated: v0.2

Fixed:
-The long reload and ammo counter delay.
-Difficulty, so health is set correctly now.

Added:
-One more part to the game, a small one.
-Colaborater, now you can reload from all sides. (up down left and right)
-Special screen for cinamatics, black tiles comes from the bottom and top of the screen and HUD dissapears.

Basically mingled around with the code a bit and added some stuff.

For later, planning to add/fix:

-Maybe another weapon. (SMG? with limited ammo)
-More parts to the game.
-A new type of zombie? (ranged)
-Fix up the lighting and better scenery
-An intro video, with background story.
-Add an animation to go with the walking pause in the beginning.

Please post comments and questions.
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________

This is what I have so far, due to the fact too much stuff is running at once, it lags quite a while, such as the ammo check, I'm attempting to fix that right now buy thinking of a way to make it more simple. I was planning on posting it later when i made more of the game, but what the heck, might as well. Still need to add some audio and sound effects, maybe an intro, and a couple of scenes to add to the mood, but all in good time, i guess...

But anyways here it is, still don't have much, I'll add more as i go along and have spare time. Only have 2 parts so far, and hoping to finish it so not much to do. Feel free to help and suggest some things i could do to make it better thanks.

Instuctions:
Simple, just click and shoot, character moves on his own, like the arcade shooters.
Reload: move the mouse off the screen in any direction. (if colaborated correctly and screen isn't readjusted.)

***Note: I've only been using Alice for about 3 months so it won't be the best. And I'm amazed my first thing i posted wasn't an anime related thing ^__^ well maybe due to the fact I cant get my hands on any anime objects Q_Q

I'm checking it out.

Cause that's what I do.

I'll edit this post in a bit with my thoughts.

Not meaning I'll use telekinesis.

Though that'd be cool.

Rather, it means I'll include my opinion after viewing your world.

For Gotham.

EDIT: Back with thoughts.

Not a bad concept, defending yourself from oncoming zombies. Worked for me, it did.

There seems to be no reload button, though.

Also, clicking the zombies only sometimes registered my shot, and even when it did, it only sometimes counted as a hit.

Otherwise, good stuff. Especially like the ammo meter. Yay bullets.

Sorry, just forgot to say, to reload is to move your mouse above the screen, planning to add a calaborater so you can reload from moving your mouse off the screen at any direction.

What do you mean by the mouse whatever? as in the object under mouse or the mouse aiming, reload, calobrator thing?

This is good. The custscene at the beginning, I feel, could fo with something more, cos right now it doesnt really add much. One thing I came across once was that I got to a point and couldnt reload? hasnt happened again though. Appart from that I love it, this is one of the good games on the forums. :D:D:D:D

Let me guess... you're inspiration for this was The House of the Dead franchise, right? And, for a bit of advice, you should never, ever have buttons to control movement in a rail shooter, unless you plan to have a sort of branching paths feature where, at certain points in the game, you are given a choice about which direction you want to go in, but with you still ending up at the same destination sooner or later. Also, try having different amounts of damage dealt for hitting enemies in different parts, such as a headshot being a one hit kill, and a bullet to the hand dealing only 1 point of damage, for examples.

Great game start. On my PC (not sure if this is supposed to happen) you turn and a guy walks up says stuff, and then the camera keeps turning right.
Overall great game and I can't wait til it's finished!!:D

Yeah, that happened to me, too. My guess is that it was because that's as far as this game's development has gotten so far, and like you, I can't wait for the next update.

Yes, and Time Crisis, i was planning to something with a duck and cover system, but that would take too long and this was for a final school project so i was limited on time.

And I did notice i had the arrow keys for moving, that was just for me to test the game and see if there were any bugs while it was running and i guess i forgot to remove it XD

For the different damage shots to different body parts, i did think about it but never actually put it in, since i would need to re-code alot of stuff.

Thanks for the suggestions though, and i got the game finished, rushed the ending a bit more than i expected since i was short on time, but still hoped you enjoy it. Have fun.

Man, I love Time Crisis. I'm actually kind of working on a Time Crisis game, and a Nazi Zombies game. Hmm, think you could give me a hand with the cover mechanic, and a character selection system, where there are two playable characters, and you'd basically set the camera's vehicle to the chosen one? This would be like for which side of the arcade machine you choose to play on for Time Crisis games since Time Crisis II, or which USB port your GunCon 2 is in for the case of the PS2 ports of the second and third games, but more akin to the selections for Time Crisis 4's two PlayStation 3 ports (Time Crisis 4 and the 3-in-1 deal Time Crisis Razing Storm). Well, I did notice the influence of The House of the Dead with the title, but Time Crisis was not exactly an inspiration that I noticed. But, honestly, for The House of the Dead, I've only played the first game in an arcade once, and seen YouTube videos and done research on the series. For examples, did you know that the most recent installment, The House of the Dead: Overkill is chronologically the first installment in the series, and an exclusive to the seemingly family-friendly Wii, was made to look like a 60's/70's grindhouse film, with many deliberate, yet humorous, continuity errors, among other things, and set a world record for profanity in a video game, only to be usurped by Mafia II about a year later?

Those don't tend to work out very well...
So the answer is: maybe.
