Is anyone having a problem getting Alice to work when using a Mac with an OS of 10.4.9. If yes, is there a solution to this problem?
I have not done a software update to our mac in awhile, so I will update it to 10.4.9 tomorrow and let you know what happens.
I just software updated and am now all up to date. Alice still runs fine. Can you explain in a little more detail what issue you are having? Are you running a powerpc or intel mac?
Please also try repairing your permissions. That has often been the culprit for mac issues.

I am learning Alice through a computer science class in hopes of being able to teach it to middle school students later in the year. I am brand new to programming but my first three class meetings were fun. :o
This spring I will be able to get a larger 1:1 student, computer ratio if I teach using Intel MacBooks this spring so even though I am learning in Dell computer lab, I am trying everything out on my MacBook.
Can you tell me how to "right click" to see the methods, when setting up a world? I have found other slight differences too, like no visible bounding box on objects and I was not able to change the transparency levels of objects, although I could make them disappear altogether.
I have had literally one lab, so my terms may be off, but apparently the "right click" issue is a big one. I have tried the key combination that works in the Office for Mac applications with no success. My professor suggested I look for an answer here. Any ideas?

The "right click" problem may be due to how you have the mouse options set up for the Mac. I know one user was set up for "left handed" use and had problems. If you think this might be your problem, just set back to defaults - or do a search of the forum for some more involved solutions - not being a Mac user I don't remember the details, unfortunately.

If I am understanding your question correctly, there are two ways:
1) If you have a mouse with a right-click button, move your pointer to the
object in the Object Tree on the left side of your window and right-click.
You will see a drop-down menu which includes Methods.
2) If you do not have a mouse with a right-click button, hold down the Ctrl
key and then click on the object in the Object Tree on the left side of your
window and the same menu will appear.

One question per e-mail would be appreciated.
Have a great year. I'm curious as to where you live.
