Here's a world that I started at the Alice Workshop at Duke in the Summer 2006. Enjoy...

Hey, that is pretty cool. My son loved it.
But he did point out that he could not see any asteroid belt! ;)

Are those really their relative rates?

I like that.

What kind of an object did you attach to Saturn to make the ring?

Those are the relative rates. Venus revolves around the sun in 225 days. The Earth revolves around the sun in 365 days. 225/365=0.616438356. On his program, he has Venus set to .66 seconds and the Earth to 1 second. This is relatively close. Mercury revolves once per 88 days. 88/365=.24109589. On his, Mercury is .24. .24/1 is obviously .24. Mars revolves once per 687 days. 687/360=1.90833333. He has Mars at 1.8. This is relatively close to the actual speeds.
