Default SAVE error - 10-01-2009, 03:37 PM

In my class, some, but not all, students report that when they save a world, ALICE saves it with the extension .A2C, which is a compressed file. However, ALICE refuses to open the file once it is saved. There is no option anywhere that I can find in ALICE to save a world as a compressed file. It just seems to happen. This is version 2.0 that the students are using. Does anyone have any experience with this behavior? Is there a work around?

Default Not .a2c - 10-01-2009, 04:52 PM

Saving as .a2c is saving as an Alice 2.0 class. You want to save it as an Alice 2.0 world, which is .a2w. When I save, it automatically saves my program as .a2w, so I have no idea why it would be saving yours as .a2c. Usually when you save an individual object, it saves as .a2c. Maybe you can try importing your world through Alice? You can import .a2c files when you open up Alice, go to file, and import.

Maybe you can find a way to make it automatically save as .a2w so you won't have this problem again.
