Default A ride along approach - 01-28-2009, 03:42 AM

Driving intructors would never think of grading a student driver without a ride along. Sending them off and seeing that they get back to the parking lot is no indication of how well they made all the stops, turns, lane changes, etc.

I believe it is the same with programming courses. Homework may be turned in without any indication of how much or how well the thinking process was served. So I'm trying to figure out a way to do a "ride along".

I suppose if each choice and action the student takes is time stamped, then a model of what they were thinking and some kind of confidence level could be derived. Maybe the undo stack can form the basis for this data.

What do you think?
