Help! I can't open Alice

Hello all,
I am currently taking a computer programming class that is using Alice. I have a disk and I have the program on my computer. I'm able to open Alice and create files, but when I try to re-open them, and to open the Alice examples on the disc that came with the book, I get an error message. Anybody have any idea what the problem might be. I have a Dell XPS with VISTA. Thanks.

Did you wait until itsaved fully?

Isn't he referring to the fact that you hav eto load alice and open alice files in alice. Not just click on them in windows. i know this is long dead, but incase other people have this problem. just load alice and find the file in the alice browser.
