how do i put music on while my world is running??

Under the world's details pane in the lower left of the screen, click on the properties tab. expand "sounds" and click on "import." From there you can navigate to your mp3 or wav file on your hard drive. Drag the resulting sound tile into your code.

i did that but it played the song then played the world

If you want your music to play during the stuff that happen in your world, you can try creating a new event. In the events editor (upper-right of screen), create a new event "when the world starts, do <your music>". Now, you'll have both "my first method" and "your music" start at the same time.
