Playing Dodge Ball 4 on a MacBook Pro

I am having trouble getting Dodge Ball 4 to load on my MacBook Pro after opening the world via the File menu.

The application opens a small screen with Start and Options and the Play button grayed out with the music playing.

I am running Alice 2.2 under OS X 10.6.8 with 4 GB memory.

I assume I am missing something obvious being new the Alice application and games written for it.
