Default FTP handler - 08-30-2010, 02:17 PM

Hey! Remember when I made the ftp chat? Well I'm back with something even cooler! This world will constantly handle the ftp connections, so any programs that use it never have to worry about the connection handling. If world.status == 2, the ftp connection is ready to go! (The light at the top right shows when you are connected)

I can't figure out the code either. Perhaps it's scripted?

The program is built for the multiplayer games that are starting to be developed by closed door developers. (Such as Arty and I) Everything but the color changes is handled by scripting, (Probably gonna make that scripted soon) and while world.status == 2, the global (not world) level variable ftp is a standard org.python.ftplib.FTP class. As you can see, it is a python system that makes developing ftp based multiplayer programs (Such as Alice Chat) much easier. In fact, I'm developing a brand new version of alice chat that uses a threaded system, leading to fewer freezes and more python code.

In fact, I'm migrating much of my Alice programming to python. Expect a good bit of python scripts in the upcoming HALO game.

Me and Zone are making Halo the best FPS in the Alice community. I'm sure all of you FPS makers will get some great ideas once its released. Progress is slowing down because Zone is having computer issues but im still working. Also.....school started

This looks quite useful. I would love to make an online game. Problem is that I dont know how to thread stuff properly yet. Im going to start learning, as it looks quite useful, the majority of the code you now do is threaded.
I would need to set up a new FTP, is heliohost reliable? (since its the one you use). I started developing an FPS ago, I might continue it again as its all-the-go on the community now, and Ive just realised that the "let the arrow keys move ..." event was the thing causing it to completely freeze up.
