Perhaps we should ALL stop complaining about 'faults' we find in ALICE and instead pay homage to a person of vision!

I read the article and viewed the video excerts from the meeting.

Rather than depression, I felt uplifted and proud to have been given the chance to see such a strong and calm demeanor in the face of what must have been a long and painful process.

I wish him the best in the time that he has left, and thank him for giving us something that will make us better teachers.

There's a lot to admire about him. If in a similar situation, I'd be proud to show a fraction of his courage. No wallowing in depression, no blaming bad fortune, and no invoking gods and goblins - just a man grabbing mortality by the throat and saying "not yet".
