Post Authoring stencils-based Tutorials - 06-13-2008, 03:09 AM

Hello,

we write you from Spain. I'm studing a Master of Computer Graphics,
Games and Virtual Reality.

We are preparing a workshop with Alice for future students in computer
science (girls and boys around 15-18). We have read about
Stencil-Based Tutorials: Design and Evaluation, and stencil-based
tutorials present a good way to motive them. but getting the raw xml
file to make new tutorials is harder than we thought. is there
information about 'Authoring stencils-based Tutorials'.

We're really grateful for your support.

Thanks in advance and best regards!

Caitlin Kelleher and Randy Pausch authored a paper on Stencil-Based-Tutorials with Alice. You might wish to start here: http://www.cse.wustl.edu/~ckelleher/kelleherCHI05.pdf

Good luck,

You can not create an executable Alice world. Alice was meant to work on numerous computer platforms, i.e., Windows, MAC, Linux, etc and therefore compiling an Alice file into a single .exe is not achievable.
