Question Is there a way to climb up steps? - 12-14-2011, 07:24 PM

For example, with the Beach house object that comes with Alice, is there a way to make the character go up the steps leading to the door? And how long would it take to do the programming for that?

I would put a method where if the charecter was close to the bottom the stairs turn to face stairs
Move forward and up X many meters to get up the stairs.

are the steps a sub part? If they are you could say 'if guy is 'x meters' from steps, then guy move 'up 'y meters''.

I would put a dummy object on each end of the stairs and say how close to that it is.

that would work best. But my idea was faster(is the stairs are a separate subpart).
