Default New to this, and have a few question... - 04-26-2010, 02:07 PM

Hey all, I am a bit new to the program and I have a few questions.

Most importantly, how much experience would one need with programming to use this program?

Could I use this to make demos of games? Like make the UI, a character modle, and a battle system with this program?

How hard is it to make a 3D model in this program with a UI, and other creatures?

How hard is it to make this program crash?

Thanks for the help!

For beginners, the hardest part is learning what the scripts mean.
After that it just takes a little thought to make games.
You can make games fairly easily with alice.
You cant "make" models in alice, alice just makes the models do what you want, you need a model making program like blender to make the models.

Hope I helped!

Sadly, in my experiences, Alice crashes quite easily when dealing with large files. Loading is usually not a problem, but saving might cause the program to terminate without warning.

Also, Alice 2.2 has glitches that cause the code, when run, to crash, or makes some of the drag-and-drop tiles not compatible with other tiles (error message when drag is completed) when they should be. If this ever happens, try saving and restarting Alice.
