Default Collision Detection Beta - 07-11-2009, 09:34 AM

After some time I found a simple program string that give collision detection. You can ajust the sensitivity so more or less ojects are used. Hopefully this is an advance for everyone, although I think it could have been easily done before.

This is my EDIT: (second) version. I plan to add some more as time progresses and I learn new techniques. There is one other thing I want to try.

This is my ongoing project to develop an sub-engine to be added to games so that Alice can add one more level of reality. The current standard of let arrows move camera has one glaring error it only works moving forward and against flat surfaces. As soon as you reach a corner or move backwards you can pass through anything.

Really I am trying to make this so that I can produce a great game with many areas where the player must finish a level to progress and cannot exploit glitches or walls.

My method here also cuts the coding of collision detection down substantially versus the single item method.

Lastly People ask about it all the time and I have never seen any other posed worlds demonstrating these principles.

Sadly the current engine is very twitchy, as of now. I haven't worked on this since I posted it, maybe I'll improve it one day.
