Smile FPS game - 11-18-2010, 08:50 AM

New FPS created by me, comment good or bad is okay, just comment :P need improvements of course, this is just the basic layout, no AI's yet, just the guns, movements and stuff.

Nice, good models, heres what i think:

Pros:
-Good models
-Good selection of weapons
-Nice positionings for the FPS arms.
-Good with movement terms, as in you dont walk into the ground when facing it.
-Bullet reaches its target.

Cons:
-The pistol FPS arm positioning is off.
-In my opinion, bullet is too small.

Things you should work on/improve:
-The dummy which the bullet travels to isn't vehicled to the camera.
-Animations (reload, weapon switch.)
-Ammo (if this is becoming a game.)
-When knifing, the right forearms end is visible, so it does seem like floating arms.
-AK47 firing doesn't work, i can't see the bullet, or the model is just obstructing my view.
-The shooting is single fire, and would be nice if it was automatic.

Overall, pretty good, just got a few nicks and nacks you gotta work out.

By the way, i made a game similar to this, but kinda stopped making it in the middle of it, I may go back to making it sometime. Anyways I'll post my world. Feel free to use my world as a refence and copy some of the code if you would like. I have ammo, animations, and most of the running character in it, just didn't bother adding movement yet.

Instructions:
Click the red dot to calobrate, then move the mouse left and right to aim.
Space = Shoot
Q = Switch Weapons
R = Reload

Ok now....Otori, I looked at the game like you asked. Pretty much what Akira101 said, but....The hands should be changed for the gun, Where the bullet goes to when you fire should be attached to the camera so the bullets work. The Controls are a little bit squeemy.

Its a good start Otori, so keep working at it, I'll asnwer any other questions that you have...

Akira sort of got the test the game right before I did, sorry....but I did it as fast as I could

Thanks, but the reloading animations are the inner-depth detail but I'm just trying to grasp the basics of the FPS, I wanna grasps the basics first, and after the basics coding, I'll see what additional details could be added, such as reload animation, gun moving up and down while you walk those things.

And >_<, my knife animation sucks really bad, I need a better model, so I could do the horizontal mid air slash, because I can't do it with my current model, so anyone got better knife models?

And the AK47, I haven't made a firing method for that yet >_< I was just seeing the basics, I might make an automatic for AK47, but I don't really know the coding for automatic firing, must the code be "While key is pressed?" and put the method into during?

And yes this is becoming a game so I would need ammos.

More comments and suggestions to improve on?

And by the way, you write/read great english for a person living in Hong Kong. Thats quite rare for people in asian and certian european countries to know english this well. Koodos.

That is sort of a stereotype, but anyways. If you ever went to Hong Kong, you may be surprised by how many people speak English and Chinese. Don't forget that there is British influence in Hong Kong.
