Default Problems with Mouse Move <object> - 12-19-2011, 12:25 AM

Here is the problem. The lab states the following.

Create a ring catching game using a torus and a cone, the ring should fall out of the sky while the user moves the cone along the ground with the mouse. The user's objective is to catch the ring with the cone. After each attempt reset the ring and repeat until the user has 10 points.

So far I have the following working.
1. Ring falls in random places
2. Check to see if the ring is caught by the cone.
3. Reset Ring
4. Move cone with mouse (partially working)

What I could use some help with is this, is there any way to constrain the cone to only move Left / Right and not foward and backwards along the ground. The ring does not move in and out of the background so neither should the cone. Any help would be appreciated.

Use the When a key is pressed: change to: While a key is pressed

and put move left/right (probably as seen by camera) in the during, one event for each key

And Dakota isn't a troll. He probably just accidently copied the wrong link

Well it seems even after speaking with my professor there is no viable way to constrain the objects movement with the mouse, unless you build invisible objects behind and in front of it and check for collisions.

I didnt really think he was trolling but you never can tell, as sarcasm doesnt translate to text well =P. It was interesting that the link just led back to this page.
