advertise alice on different sites

why don't we advertise alice on different sites so there will be more people in the community???

x2495iiii 10-27-2010 01:00 AM

That's a question for gabe.

You should ask him. He's about due for another visit to the boards, and he could use the responsibility of answering something complex. Heh.

gabe 10-27-2010 12:48 PM

You are welcome to mention Alice or the boards wherever you want.

If by advertise you mean banner ads, then that's probably not going to happen.

But the Alice team relies on word of mouth and publicity to get others interested. What did you have in mind?

beachbum111111 10-27-2010 01:06 PM

advertising links like what other sites do...

gabe 10-28-2010 01:23 PM

Yeah, we don't really have the budget for advertising in this way.

beachbum111111 10-28-2010 01:29 PM

oh... but couldn't we do it for free?

beachbum111111 10-28-2010 02:03 PM

does the alice program have a facebook account???

gabe 10-28-2010 05:38 PM

Not that I know of. I've remember thinking I should create one awhile ago but completely forgot about it. I will add it to my todo list. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

beachbum111111 11-02-2010 07:38 PM

did you make it yet???

dubastot 11-02-2010 09:51 PM

You could advertise through my site once it is up. I promise you it will be cheap.

beachbum111111 11-03-2010 04:45 PM

im not paying to advertise...

dubastot 11-03-2010 05:07 PM

Of course you aren't. I am talking to Gabe.

GoGators 11-03-2010 05:49 PM

Umm..

Guys after all that alice has enabled us to do so much you are going to make them pay???? They did us a favor by making alice free i think the least you could do is not try to rob them of thier hard earned cash.

Besides dubasot, how much traffic is going to go through your site? 1 person a day? You cant charge ANYONE for that type of worthless advertising. You have to start at the bottom and work your way up. You really cant start advertising successfully until you have at least 15 people coming a day.

One last thing for people who don't understand how websites and advertising work. Gabe/Alice.org does not need traffic (people to come to thier site) like websites that sell a product do. because even though more people is good alice doen't get payed when people download it. in other words gabe would pe paying and not recieving, and NOBODY likes to do that!

Thank you for your time,
GoGators

beachbum111111 11-03-2010 06:06 PM

we could advertise for free...

GoGators 11-03-2010 07:00 PM

Yes that would work.

that would work because it is
free-free

where the other way would not work because it is more like this
free-charge

P1= Alice
P2= Advertizer
Person one looses because he has to par person two.

beachbum111111 11-03-2010 07:17 PM

yeah...

gabe 11-04-2010 09:38 AM

Thanks, but we're really not interested in advertising Alice in this way. We prefer word of mouth, blog posts, editorials, articles, etc.
