Do PS2 Games Work on a PS3?

Yup, PS3 is backwards compatible with PS2 so a PS3 can play all PS3, PS2, and classic PS games.
Edit: ooh, i guess their not backwards compatible... get an xbox 360! |
Don't know what model you have, but PS3's are typically NOT backwards compatible. The older models were, but the feature required a download of PS2 system data. Mine, for example, isn't.

My cousins runs PS2 games on PS3.

Most PS3's won't play PS2 games. Definitely none of the newer ones. You can probably buy one off ebay, but you'll be paying more than it would cost to get a used PS2 (~$50). I assume eventually Sony will rerelease their most popular classic games via their online marketplace.

i thought they could only play ps1 games :confused:

I thought you cant play PS3 game on PS2. Definatly not the HD ones |
You can't. The processor power required to play even the lousiest PS3 game is more than what the PS2 can offer.
Incidentally, the same holds true for the Wii. Nearly all games ported to the Wii from the PS3 or xBox360 have to be severely watered down in terms of graphics and content. |
and the ps2 doesnt support blu-ray :(
|
nope.
