Assigning in early Alice 3 release

My version of Alice 3 does not have an assign button down with the variable button. I would appreciate knowing how to assign a value to an array placeholder.
As well, when I add a property, it does not show for the class for which I created it. No problem in 3.1.81. Just earlier versions of Alice 3
