Culling Systems.

Well, I am a working on a legitement game(well indie but yeah) right now in the Unity 3d engine. I have been learning about a game optimization tool called culling. What culling is is hiding objects you can't see and not rendering them. So I wanted to know if Alice rendered object with 0% opacity.

Just wondering DOES ANYONE KNOW?????? THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!! I NEED TO KNOW THIS.

I dont know this, but Im guessing that it does render objects with 0% opacity due to what you can see if use a mac or something that fails at opacity.

I think it doesn't render it if you make it not showing though, with the showing bit set to false.

Thanks, This will help fix the lag in almost all big games.

Yeah it doesn't render objects that aren't showing, but Alice has the ability to ignore objects out of the camera's view already built in.

Check out this world. When the grass is in view, the motion is choppy. When you walk through it and go past it, motion is smooth again. Proof that Alice isn't rendering what isn't on screen.

Ahh... but watch my example with the same world. It is choppy when looking in the direction of the greass even though it is not actually on screen showing it renders what is not on screen but in the direction of the camera within the cliping distances.
