Screenshots Contest?
 

With the game contest deadline nearly here and only one submission in, I figured something simpler and easier to create might be more successful. So, how about a screenshot contest? It could be funny, epic, mysterious, chaotic, whatever, so long as it's age appropriate. Screenshots are easy to make (capture button in the upper-right corner of the play window) and easy to post as well, so this one should have a much higher participation rate.

What do you guys think?

Good idea, cos my competition world went corrupt and nobody else is ready, Im sure everybody could come up with loads of screenshots.
How many times could you enter?

I was thinking about that. On the one hand, I'd love to have a whole bunch of entries, but on the other hand, I don't want someone who has lots of time or has more knowledge of Alice shotgunning the contest with entries and making it easier for them to win by sheer volume.

Meh, how does three per person sound?

By the way, I made one as an example. Took me about 20 minutes or so to get it just right. I call it "A bad day to be ballooning."

3 sounds about good, it means I can enter 3 different genres of image. Also you're right, there shouldnt be too much competetion then.

Are you allowed to edit the pictures in any way?

No, because then it wouldn't be a screenshot. It needs to be an active shot of a an Alice world.

Maybe just to make sure it's genuine, you should post the world you used to make the shot as well?

Ive deleted my world, cos the picture was the finished product, didnt need the rest.

Also I used a print screen program called PrtScr as it creates better images, is that OK?

First, arty's question: yes, that's fine. And I guess having the original world isn't a necessity if the shot looks like it was obviously done with Alice, but from now on, have it ready in case legitimacy is challenged.

Deadline: Dunno yet. Obviously 4 months was way too long for the last one, so since this one's easier, how about end of July?

Judge: I had a judge set up for the games contest and provided he's still willing he and I could possibly do it (I won't be entering this one, my shot was just an example).

Based on: Anything, be creative. Just no grody stuff.

Anyone else going to enter? This one's easy guys, all you need is an idea and half an hour's time.

I'll enter. Once I finish my model of a broken misile launch site. I am curently texturing. Then I will add in some custom trees. Make some cool atmosphere with a guy exchanging a suitcas nuke and... Wait should I be saying this. I hope no one steals my idea. No seriously I aam working on this for an actual game I intend to sell so yeah It should be good.

I have yet to get a .gif to work on the boards (despite the fact that it says they're enabled), so that might also be it.

gifs don't work? Was it animated? Can you just convert it to a jpeg or png?

It was up there and working when I checked it. Now it doesn't show up in the post anymore.:(

Ok, so i jsut saw this thread, but i cant upload images, they always show up as and X. I have one a made a long time ago but i will post it

I think in most instances animated gifs are disabled. While they can be tasteful, most are not. And based on what I see on other forums, the fewer flashing things the better. :)

I like simple ones, like my jediaction, thats what everyone thinks i look like just because thats what everyones seen. Just like X2495iiii looks like a penguin "not really". Im just saying, we recognize everyone by there avatar.
