Talking Interesting (but generally useless) Information - 05-03-2007, 10:31 AM

There are at least two other programs, a computing lab and one game named Alice.

An AI conversation program: See http://alice.pandorabots.com/ , http://www.lycos.com/info/alice-chatterbot.html and http://www.msu.edu/~forestke/paper2.htm . (Neat if you like that sort of thing. Sort of an updated Elisa (may have the name wrong).)

A "Data Mining" tool: http://www.alice-soft.com/html/prod_aliceserv.htm

A computing environment: http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/alice/ at Argonne National Laboratory. This group may have done some medical work but it wasn't their main thrust.

And the game: http://www.computerhope.com/games/games/alice.htm and http://www.english-literature.org/es...ice_video.html . (I have this. It's a somewhat "dark" game with interesting graphics.)

There was a 3D medical imaging tool (see http://image.nih.gov/software/ip_packages.html#alice ) named Alice but it seems to have been renamed or is no longer available - at least I couldn't find an active link. If you do a search going back a few years there are a few references to it.
