Default Because I procrastinate on homework... - 03-10-2010, 10:06 PM

Here is a maze i made using zonedabone's collision detection method.

It took about an hour to make this. I think this method is great but would be very time consumming on a large scale game.

You should make levels to this. Its good but of course, it could always get better

I Actually know another way to make collision detection with walls. I will post an example in about an hour because I am sick right now and working at around half my normal speed.

Well, I fell better now but my collision detection is taking some more work than initialy thought to make it user friendly.

Sorry for not looking at the thread! The unnesecary math was a remnant of a little feature I was working on, but didn't get finished for 1.2. It was for resizeable cylinders! Of course, one of them needed to be changed to object from close objects. Version 1.3 has this feature! Just note that when the cylinders get big, you can see each polygon, but the engine doesn't rely on those, so your object will work as if it were a perfect cylinder. This mey cause it to look as though it's not working, but it is! You just have to think of it as perfect. Spheres also work with this, so try using sphere high polys.

I am curently working on integrating this with my an first person shooter engine. I am probably going to create my own engine. Oh, lastly I am looking in to switching my competition world, again, and making my skiing world into a joint project. I am currently busy with a million projects (Alice, school, learning java script(the real script) and learning to use unity among a host of other things), but I am also looking in to creating a Alice game Studio. The studio will be called A-TOM Studios as this is my current studio name on youtube.

Default Request - 03-15-2010, 10:16 PM

Zonedabone I have a request for the functionality of this engine. I would like to see the ability for easy modification of what the collision detection is checking. I implemented this in my collision detection engine. The reason I would like to see this in your collision detection system is that I can not figure out how to make the camera or object gor around on its own. If you could tell me what to do too that would be great because
It would mean much more functionallity for my engine which is the new standard for my "studio." So thanks in advance.

let me get this straight. As opposed to the cylinder, you want there to be a variable where you set the main object?

What I want is instead of having it so that you cant change what the object the collision detection is detecting the collisions for I want it so that you can quickly change that object through a variable.
