2d Sprites onto a 3D enviornment?

Hey all! I came back, because I want to announce that I'm working on a Pokemon RPG thing. After playing Pokemon White, I realized that the best way to go in alice is 2d sprite on 3d environment. The problem is that I want to know whether Alice recognizes transparencies. Right now Alice is being downloaded, so I just want to figure it out.

Yes, if the sprite is in .png format.

Several objects in Alice already rely on this, like the smoke and fire animations in the special effects gallery.
