Please help, need some assistance.!

I have an object and i surrounded the object with walls, then I wrote a method to what should happen to the object if it is too close to the walls.

However what I need help with is how to detect whether the object in the center is close to the many other objects which form the wall.

I created a list of all the objects forming the wall and I attempted to use an if/else statement to determine while the center object is close to the wall, however using the list I could only select whether the object is close to the first or last wall of the list?

Any suggestions?
