Previously I posted a
compass. This used dummies etc. I have come up with a new
much better method.
This method uses
no dummies or anything, just trigonometry.
It does use a dummy at the camera, but that is only because the camera returns incorrect values, if used on another object other than the camera it would require no dummies or anything else.
This points to an objective (the crate) - but it could easily be changed to point north (just put an objective far away and call it north).
In the attached exemplar world use the arrow keys to move/turn. You can move the crate by dragging it with the mouse.
