You can and you can't. See, the problem is that every object is different. In Alice, at least. What you're trying to do here is essentially trying to get orange juice from a nectarine. They're both fruits but it doesn't work that way. The only places you'll ever get orange juice from nectarines are dedicated gaming engines such as CryENGINE, where functions are automated based on bone part names.
You're free to mimick the basic structure of a method and you'll probably get away with it, but come more complicated methods, such as non-pose based walk animations, you'll have to start changing a few numbers.
The only situation this would work flawlessly is when you're using the exact same object, and you're too silly to simply clone the object.
