import music in alice?

I've got the song I want that's an mp3. file, it won't work in Alice though. What kind of file do I need to convert it to, and how?
Also, I'd like to know how to fade music to a black background.

what? Alice does support mp3...
I am not sure what you mean by fading to background.

I can import it using "import sound", but nothing happens when i press the play button. Even if I drag the file to my method, the song won't play in my movie.

Alice has trouble with sounds. It can do just about anything with anything else, but sound is just not its specialty. TBH, having .mp3 in your world is like Russian Roulette. You have no idea if it will work or not. The only file format I am certain that works (Because I tried in school, it uses Alice 2.2 from 2009) is the .WAV format.
Alice does not do fading out. You have to attach a separate sound file that has the song fading out. You may do this with quite literally just about any video editing software, such as Sony Vegas (If you want to overkill it) or some random free program that I probably would slap you for using.
Isn't encoding nice? Doom9 for more info on conversion.

you can gradually reduce the volume with a method, so yes, you can do fadeout.
