Hmm Really? Your the first one to have this problem. Try running it on the new alice. The one that came out in september

That may be it.

The Mac version has even more problems than the Windows version (which is buggy enough), and I would not be surprised if that was the case.

I myself have used the Mac Alice, and there are problems like the fire animation from the object gallery having a black background.

If you have a Windows (or have access to one with Alice installed, such as in your school), you'll most likely be able to run with no problems.

i tried downloading alice on my p.c. but it won't let me... i click open and nothing happens but it runs perfectly on my mac... and when i clicked on the more detail about the error it says throwable causes the error... help please

Could you post all the text that was in the throwable error?

I can't decipher it perfectly, but it will at least give some idea of what this problem's about?
