Smile Joystick/controller/motion capture input - 10-29-2009, 11:56 AM

I wish Alice would support joystick controls for programming. I can configure my flight stick for menu commands (i.e. Alt -> File -> Save), but Alice doesn't seem to have many. I'd like to configure one button for 'resize object', another for 'move freely', another for 'rotate', etc, but those controls aren't labeled as MENU options...
Could they be written as MENU controls? Or could somebody please direct me to someone who might write a joystick plugin for the program?

I would also like to see (eventually, I suppose) 3-d capture importing, where 1 webcam on the x-axis and another on the y-axis capture LEDs as space coordinates, and the movements of those leds is captured as 'paths' (already exists -> openGLUT, etc) and then importable as Alice object subpart movements.

Honestly, I believe this would be easier to accomplish than it at first sounds. 3-d capture and/or controller input would be HUGE for for Alice.

There are so many reasons I want to program in Alice, versus other options. Please help.

Thanks.

Slim
