Default How do I make Health Points and Make someone dissapeer after death? - 10-18-2010, 11:58 AM

Hi I would like to be able to make characters have an amount of health and when they are hit they loose health points. Also when they have ran out of health points I want them to dissapeer (aka Die).

Add a variable "heath" to the charactor with a number value.
After each hit action subtract a number from the "heath", then check if (heath <= 0) then object set is showing false or set occupancy to 0%

How do you do this?? I made the variable, but don't know how to do the rest. Can you give me a step-by-step process or a detailed explanation? Thank you.

Then its not realy learning how to do it in the future or understanding why it works its just copy and paste. Besides, if then do exaclty what i did it may not work depending on thir methods, events, and objects.

now i do agree that you shouldnt ask people to copy worlds and ask others to create worlds for you but i do think its ok to make worlds to show someone how to do something so heres a simple example of a health method, all you'd have to do is edit it a little to work with you games (NOTE there are many ways to do this so don't think this is the only one) Just click on the dude to see how it works until he dies.

Hope this helps

Someone posted a world that demonstrated four ways to display a health system not too long ago. Bet that'd answer a few questions for you.
