Default Possible soldier models - 07-15-2011, 02:34 AM

well I made a soldier from scratch, it looked amazing, However, it ended up being over 3 mb, and i wasn't even half done, it would have been a very usuable person model, I spent over 5 hours making it, however it will not convert since it's so large, so I'm just scratching that soldier and going to make a lower poly count soldier model, but I really don't feel like posting it if I make it, but if I make it, it will end up here.

What kind of soldier? Are we talking something like a Halo UNSC marine, which Jedi Action has been pretty much desperate to find, or modern day US Army, or a SOLDIER from Final Fantasy VII, or what?

Here it is, my third person model, it's a left handed swat member

#1 no movable fingers, you ask why? simple really, I didn't feel like wasting my time on that since the model size was already 3mb

#2 If you don't like the model, just don't use it and don't put any snide comment, they are not appreciated

#3 I spent nearly 7 hours on the mesh alone, so like I said before, if you don't like it, just ignore, because I use my own personal time to make these models FOR THE COMMUNITY, FOR FREE, ON MY OWN TIME, that's why they are not perfect

I think it looks cool, the mask is probably my favorite part, and uh "snide comments" are really never appreciated especially when you work hard on something; it is kind of like a given, but I suppose some people do need to be reminded on occasion. The one thing I thought was little weird though was that he had no neck, but eh, maybe that is too picky

haha thats pretty funny because he did have a neck, but I multiresed the mesh which pretty much made it look like a tiny nub above the shoulders, so he did have one, but by giving the model a smoother look, it got rid of it haha

Yeah, I can tell from the sample image you uploaded how the neck was like that. Also, for the record, do we have permission to modify this to make the hands and/ or fingers individual parts? Presumably, we will have to give you credit where it's due, although I'm guessing that just uploading any updated versions would have to be done in this thread, which I say is enough for giving you credit.

Go ahead, these models are for the community, and credit would be nice, I was going to start stamping my models (hidden name text in the models) but I figured it really wouldn't matter, but back to the point, you can modify/update any model, or even ask me to make modifications myself, which im glad to do as long as people are not blatanly rude with their suggestions

Yeah, I can tell from the uploaded image. Just one question. Do we have permission to modify this to make the fingers become individual parts?
