Default Can I duplicate objects? (Stortelling Alice) - 04-28-2011, 02:51 PM

Hey, I'm a HS teacher and I'm just starting to use Storytelling Alice in my computer applications class as an introduction to programming[(/background]

I have a quick question - is it possible to copy or create duplicates of objects that already exist in the Alice world? For example, I have students wanting to animate a large group of people that all perform the same arm movement method (think standing army in unison). Is there a way that we can make a import a single model, create the method, and then duplicate the object to create multiple instances of the object in one scene?

I've used the "save object" command, but is there an easier way to accomplish the same thing?

Thanks,
headache62

Make a bunch of the same objects in your world, and then Build a List

Click "Add Objects"
Click on the person/thing you want to duplicate
By the "move/rotate/etc." go to the far right and click that
Click on the person/thing and Alice should clone it.

I was taught well...

Before cloning, make sure that you have made any necessary mods to the object, so that they will all have the same. Then put them all into a list to work with.
