Default Need help with my game choosing what to do. - 05-27-2010, 12:33 PM

Ok well I'm making a game with "hotel" and there are characters dropping stuff from the top. The objective of the game is to get to the top without being hit three times. If you are hit three times, you will fall off the building and lose. There are three choices, left, middle or right. If you place the hotel in a world you will see and understand. I have it so you can choose which side you want to go up on. I have one man at the bottom of each, and depending on which side they click, that man will appear. My problem is though, how do i make it so that the man they choose is the only one that can move? I am not asking for you to do it for me, which is why i'm not posting it(and because my school is strict on this) but I'm asking for help.

Ok well I think I found a solution. Just need to know if it will work then i will report back. My idea is to put in a if/else statement and have it say"if camera is(insert number her) meters from circle, then do(insert method to make him move). Basically the circle is where the camera will move to once they click on where they want to go to so they can get a better view.

Or cant i put it in the "when up is pressed, do" and put in the method there without making it a world or class method?

Yes, you can create event specific methods without actually creating and naming the method. You just need to drop in a "do in order" inside the event argument.
