Default How to make real physics - 10-27-2010, 04:29 PM

I'm using alice to develop a bike game, where i have to move a bike in a course, until i find a ramp. i can't develop a method to make it go up the ramp, jump and then land, with real (or at least close to) real life physics. also, the speed of the bike is variable, so i want the height and distance to change acordingly to the speed

Falling realistically is easy, just have him go up a certain amount with an end gently style, then let him go down his distance above the ground with a begin gently style.

the certain amount is the tricky part, because i had to rezise every item (the biker, the track), so in order to apply the proper function, i would have to come up with a way to measure the size of the bike, the angle of the ramp. any suggestions on how i could do that? btw, thanks for the idea, i will try that with some "random" numbers until i make it seam realistic enough

It's tough with Alice, since collision detection is kind of hit or miss.

I like to fake it with dummy objects.

Here's an example of how to do that.
