Arrow Sick Map, could someone convert from Sketchup? - 07-11-2012, 08:43 PM

i made a pretty cool map for use with my rpg, i could really use some help converting because my computer doesnt allow me too

thanks to anyone

i'll post it, but its really big and i didnt know if the objects had to be a certain poly size?

Sorta.

Rule of thumb is 10,000 polys or less, but I've seen people go higher.

In that case the scene needs to be cut into subobjects.
Theoretically the .ASE format can support an infinite amount of polys, but each subobject only supports ~10,000 polys.
Chop the map in an organized fashion into elements—say "River", "Circle Wall 1" "Ground", etc, and convert them into the .ASE format. In the case of Sketch-up there are a few solutions, such as converting to .OBJ and using another program to convert to .ASE, or install a script plugin for direct conversion to .ASE.
