Default Cursor and speech bubble problem - 04-21-2011, 10:11 PM

I installed Alice on a number of laptops running Windows XP. On some laptops (not all) I have experienced 2 problems:
1) The cursor turns from an arrow shape to an hourglass shape. It does not affect how it works but its just very annoying.
and
2) The speech bubble shows up to the left of the object.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Alice without any change to these problems.
Does anybody have any suggestions. Thanks.

1) this just means the computer is loading and or proccessing information, can't get rid of that unless you get better computers.

2)speech bubbles will appear anywhere that they can fit inside the worlds view while playing the world, so again, you really can't change that unless you move the object in which the speech bubbles are coming out of.

I thought that you can specify what part of the object the speech bubble comes from. If the speech bubble appears away from the object wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

you can specifiy where the text bubble comes out of, but it is a line coming from that part to the text bubble where the text bubble can fit properly

Default Text Bubble Positioning - 06-16-2018, 05:41 PM

You mentioned that you can set where a text bubble is coming out of, but I can't seem to locate that option. Where do you specify the part that the text comes out of?

I think that they are referring to the fact that you can make the say bubble come from any of an objects subparts. So if the main part is the body just calling say will cause the bubble to be coming from the middle of the object. Selecting the head subpart will cause the bubble to appear around the objects head.
